Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has stirred heated reactions across Nigeria after making a bold and controversial statement regarding insecurity in the country.
Speaking during a public address, Igboho declared that if the Federal Government handed over control of a security agency to him, he would completely eradicate Fulani terrorists troubling communities. He went further to challenge authorities, saying if he failed in the mission, then the government should “kill” him instead.
The remarks have since gone viral, sparking intense debates on social media and across political circles. While some of his supporters praised the activist for his confidence and patriotism, critics described the statement as reckless and capable of heightening ethnic tensions.

Sunday Igboho is no stranger to controversy. He rose to prominence in 2021 for leading campaigns against herders accused of violent attacks in Oyo and Ogun States, later fleeing the country after a dramatic confrontation with security agencies.
His latest comments resurface at a time when Nigerians continue to demand stronger security measures against terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings nationwide.
Observers say Igboho’s fiery rhetoric reflects public frustration with rising insecurity but warn that entrusting individuals with militant tendencies could escalate rather than resolve the crisis.
As at press time, the Federal Government has not issued an official response to Igboho’s comments.
