A quiet Sunday evening turned into horror after a 52-year-old nurse—loved in her community for her kindness—was allegedly hacked to death by her 26-year-old son.
Police say the attack was so brutal that at first it looked like an animal mauling, but later confirmed a panga had been used. Neighbours recalled hearing loud shouting before the tragedy, with one describing the victim as“a kind soul, always ready to help”.
Authorities were alerted when relatives couldn’t reach her by phone. On arrival, officers discovered her lifeless body inside the house and found her son in a dazed state. He was arrested on the spot and is expected to appear in court this week.
