A former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that the reign of the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, will usher in peace and prosperity for the people of the ancient city.

A statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday disclosed that Aregbesola, a former Minister of Interior, made the declaration when he visited the Olubadan-designate at his Bodija residence in Ibadan.

Our correspondent reports that Ladoja, a former governor of Oyo State, has been nominated as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Aregbesola prayed to God to grant the Olubadan-designate long life and wisdom.

He also prayed God to ensure that his reign brings progress not only to Ibadan but also to the entire Yoruba land and beyond.

He said, “Yesterday, we paid a courtesy visit to the 44th Olubadan-designate and former Governor of Oyo State, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“It is our earnest prayer that his reign will usher in peace, unity, and much-deserved prosperity for Ibadan and her people.

“May Almighty Allah grant him sound health, long life, and the wisdom of our forebears to lead with fairness and dignity, and may his ascension bring progress not only to Ibadan but also to the entire Yoruba land and beyond.”
