Nigeria posted a trade surplus of ₦7.5 trillion in the second quarter of 2025, a 52 percent increase from the ₦5.17 trillion recorded in the first quarter.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) disclosed this in its Foreign Trade in Goods Statistics Report for Q2 2025, released on Friday.
The report showed that total trade rose to ₦38.04 trillion in Q2, representing a 5.5 percent increase compared to ₦36.02 trillion in Q1. Imports declined slightly to ₦15.28 trillion from ₦15.42 trillion, while exports grew to ₦22.75 trillion, up 10.5 percent from ₦20.59 trillion in the previous quarter.
Crude oil exports at ₦12.95 trillion, accounted for 62.9 percent of total exports, while non-crude oil exports were valued at ₦10.78 trillion.
