Factional Chairman of the Labour Party in Edo State, Elizabeth Ativie, has called for the arrest of Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, over the alleged assault and cyberbullying of the party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure.
Ebinaija reports that Oruche was initially detained by the police on Saturday before being released, after a confrontation with Abure at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to reports, the activist had approached Abure as he prepared to board a Max Air flight to Benin, accusing him of being responsible for the hardships Nigerians are facing.

However, addressing newsmen in the Edo NUJ complex on Monday, Ativie urged the commissioner of police to apprehend the activist and also her sponsors.
She insisted that the move would serve as a deterrent to others.
Ativie stated that the party would not allow its leaders to be “intimidated or humiliated.” She disclosed plans to institute a fundamental rights suit against Oruche.
She said, “We want to state categorically that the party will not allow itself or its leaders to be intimidated or humiliated by any individual, no matter how highly connected.
“Ms Precious Oruche has clearly crossed the line and we are going to seek protection of the law against any premeditated actions against the party or its officials.

“Character assassination, assault and cyberbullying are severe crimes, and we think the police must fish out Ms Oruche’s sponsors and cohorts and bring them to book,” she added.
Ativie also appealed to the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to“educate and properly inform his followers so they are not misguided.”
