The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 Lagos State election, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has urged Igbo leaders in Lagos to disregard claims that recent demolitions in parts of the state are aimed at witch-hunting the Igbo community.
Speaking during an interactive session with Igbo stakeholders, Jandor emphasized that Lagos has always been a state that accommodates all ethnic groups, citing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inclusive governance style during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.

According to him, “President Tinubu, as Governor of Lagos State, laid the foundation for accommodating people of Igbo and Arewa extractions into the highest decision-making body in the state the State Executive Council and that tradition continues till today. Lagos doesn’t hate you; the law of the land is no respecter of anyone.”
Jandor maintained that the ongoing demolitions are part of urban renewal efforts and not an ethnic agenda, stressing that the government’s actions are guided by law and urban planning regulations.
He, however, urged the Lagos State Government to ensure fairness, transparency, and adequate compensation where due, to prevent unnecessary hardship on affected citizens.
