A family in Bungoma County is mourning the tragic death of Engineer Joseph Omido and his wife Margaret, a Central Bank of Kenya official, who died together in a road accident while on their way to Nairobi for treatment.
A family tribute stated that the couple loved deeply, lived with purpose, and, in a cruel twist of fate, clung to each other in their final moments, dying together.
The couple’s journey began on a sad note after Margaret was involved in an accident near Gilgil.
She was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital, where she was stabilised.

When Joseph heard the news, he immediately travelled from Bungoma with his brother to be by her side.
They later arranged for her transfer to Nairobi for specialised care.
Tragically, the ambulance carrying the couple, a nurse, and the driver was involved in another accident near Kimende. None of them survived.
Their deaths shocked the community, leaving relatives and friends in deep sorrow.
At their burial in Ndalu, Tongaren Constituency, emotions ran high as mourners described them as loving, humble, and deeply committed to family and faith.
A family member said their final journey became a testament to their devotion, describing Joseph’s determination to protect the woman he loved and Margaret’s gentle strength that inspired everyone who knew her.
The Central Bank of Kenya praised Margaret for her 29 years of service, describing her as disciplined, dedicated, and kind-hearted.
Their children, Mgasu Kihanwa and Vuyanzi Mudeizi, gave a moving tribute, saying they had lost not only their parents but also their greatest supporters.
The couple were laid to rest side by side, a reflection of their lifelong bond—united in life, and now in eternal rest.
