Remi Tinubu, first lady of Nigeria, has donated seven 18-seater hybrid compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
The donation is intended to support the mobility and outreach of Christian youths across the country.
Speaking at the YOWICAN national convention and bus presentation ceremony in Abuja on Saturday, Belusochuwu Enwere, national chairman of YOWICAN, expressed gratitude for the “remarkable gesture of empowerment and faith in the youth”.

Enwere said the buses are “symbols of hope, empowerment, and commitment to enabling the youth to spread the message of love, unity, and progress across Nigeria”.
He praised the first lady’s “unwavering support for the youth” and her “dedication to uplifting communities through sustainable initiatives”, adding that YOWICAN will use the buses to advance evangelism and peacebuilding.
Enwere said the convention’s theme, ‘Shine Bright: Reflecting God’s Glory’, called on Christian youths to be “beacons of hope” and “vessels of divine light” in a world challenged by division.
“In a world shrouded in darkness — plagued by uncertainty, division, and moral challenges — we, the youth of Christ’s body, are called to be vessels of divine light that illuminate paths and draw souls to the glory of God,” he said.
“With the support of these hybrid CNG buses, we will expand our outreach, strengthen our community engagements, and amplify our efforts to build bridges of understanding across diverse groups in Nigeria,” he added.
During the event, Enwere also drew attention to the “sombre reality” of persistent Christian killings in northern Nigeria, urging government action.
“The loss of lives, the destruction of homes, and the disruption of worship in these regions are not just attacks on individuals but assaults on our shared values of peace, freedom, and faith,” he said.
He called on the government to protect lives, bring perpetrators to justice, and ensure all Nigerians “can worship freely without fear.”
