In a fiery appearance on TV Platinum, Nigerian actress and human rights activist Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama Pee, voiced strong criticism of political leaders in the South-East amid ongoing protests demanding the release of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu. Her passionate remarks have sparked widespread attention as she openly challenged Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and the broader political establishment.
During the interview from 2:38, Mama Pee expressed outrage over what she described as the silence and complicity of South-East leaders in the face of Kanu’s prolonged detention. Taking direct aim at Governor Uzodinma, she questioned both his legitimacy and his leadership.
“People are scared to talk about him, but you know me, I’m the one always ready to die,” she said, stressing that many Nigerians avoid criticizing Uzodinma due to the controversial nature of his rise to power and his approach to governance.

The activist recalled that Uzodinma was declared governor by the Supreme Court despite coming fourth in the polls an event that remains highly contentious in the region. “When you come through the wrong process, you cannot take the right stand,” she stated, suggesting that his reluctance to speak out on Kanu’s case reflects his disconnect from the will of the people.
Mama Pee went further, accusing the Nigerian government of selective justice, saying it pardons known terrorists and bandits while continuing to detain a man who, in her words, “only asked for justice for his people.” She expressed frustration with the government’s disregard for court rulings in Kanu’s favour. “The courts have said release him, yet they refuse. That is not democracy; that is tyranny,” she said.
She also recounted the harsh tactics used by security forces against peaceful demonstrators, citing tear gas, beatings, and intimidation. But despite the fear and repression, she declared the movement undeterred. “We are not scared of their bullets or their threats. We are only asking for justice, and we will not stop until justice is done,” she concluded.
