According to his statements which drew widespread attention from the general public, he pointed out that someone who was seventeen years older than him should not have been referred to as a brother.

However, the content of his message sparked mixed reactions, as many picked lapses in his well tailored remarks. Lere Olayinka, the senior special adviser on media to FCT minister, Nyesom Wike seized the opportunity to slam the former Anambra governor.
According to his statements which were shared on his official X handle on Saturday September 27th, the special adviser pointed out that Peter Obi referring to someone who was 17 years older than him was wrong.
In his arguments, he pointed out that Peter Obi cannot refer to the Obi of Onitsha, or former president Olusegun Obasanjo who were in the same age bracket as Oba Rasheed Ladoja as simply ‘brother’.
