The Nigerian Army says it has intensified its onslaught against terrorists and criminal networks across the country, seizing a massive cache of light machine gun ammunition in Zamfara State and recording other major operational successes in multiple regions.
In a statement on Sunday, the army said troops of 1 Brigade Combat Team 6 in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara neutralised a terrorist and recovered one AK-47 rifle, three magazines loaded with 29 rounds of ammunition, and a motorcycle.
In Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State, troops of 1 Battalion (Rear) engaged terrorists attempting coordinated attacks on five communities. The fierce three-hour encounter forced the attackers to flee under heavy fire.

Items recovered included over 700 rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammunition, three motorcycles, and communication devices, while one kidnapped victim was rescued.
In the North-East, troops of 112 Task Force Battalion in Mafa, Borno State, repelled an assault by ISWAP fighters, killing two terrorists and recovering two AK-47 rifles.
Similarly, in Gujba, Yobe State, troops of 27 Task Force Brigade, in collaboration with hybrid forces and local hunters, ambushed and eliminated two terrorists, seizing two motorcycles and logistics supplies.
The air and artillery components of Operation HADIN KAI also launched precision strikes on terrorist hideouts. Surveillance assets of 68 Battalion in Mallam Fatori, Borno State, tracked and disrupted terrorist movements using drones and coordinated artillery fire, dispersing an attempted incursion from the northern flank of the Lake Chad region.
The operation was further bolstered through coordination with the Republic of Niger Air Force.
In Monguno, Borno State, troops of Sector 3, Operation HADIN KAI, conducted cordon and search operations, arresting 13 suspects without credible identification and disrupting terrorist logistics networks.
In Kano State, troops of 3 Brigade arrested three suspected kidnappers and a known terrorist collaborator who were on the security watch list.
Meanwhile, in the South-South, the army said its troops sustained pressure on oil thieves through joint anti-bunkering operations with the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff.
The operation uncovered an illegal oil dump site at an abandoned petrol station in Enugu North Local Government Area, where two suspects were arrested and over 90,000 litres of illegally refined products were recovered.
Similar operations in Delta and Rivers States led to the arrest of six suspects and the destruction of several illegal refining sites containing thousands of litres of stolen crude oil.
The army also intensified anti-narcotics operations in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) across Bayelsa and Lagos States, arresting 32 suspected drug dealers and seizing large quantities of cannabis sativa and other illicit substances.
In Katsina and Plateau States, troops thwarted kidnapping attempts, rescuing three victims unhurt and arresting four bandits’ informants and logistics suppliers.
Additionally, in Gwagwalada, Abuja, troops of the 176 Guards Battalion intercepted a suspected arms courier with a Beretta pistol and 9mm ammunition.
The army stated that the series of coordinated operations underscored its renewed commitment to dismantling criminal networks and restoring peace and security across the country.
