The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has billed V-C Ottaokpukpu & Associates, a Lagos-based law firm, a staggering ₦1,505,901,750 for the printing of certified true copies of the national register of voters and polling units across Nigeria.
A letter from the commission, dated October 13, began circulating on Wednesday, confirming the cost.
Vincent Otaokpukpu, principal associate and chief counsel of the firm, confirmed on Thursday morning that his office had received the correspondence from INEC.

According to the document, Otaokpukpu had written to the commission on October 8, formally requesting the certified true copies of the register of voters and all existing polling units in every electoral ward in the country — an application made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2011.
