Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday evening paid a courtesy visit to former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, at his Abuja residence.
Atiku, in a post on his official X handle, expressed delight over the visit, noting that he was warmly received and had meaningful discussions with the former governor.
“Yesterday evening, I paid a courtesy visit to the former Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Attahiru Bafarawa, at his residence in Abuja.
“I’m happy to have met him in such a hospitable condition and to have had quality discussions with him,” he stated.
Atiku, who served as Nigeria’s Vice President has remained a key figure in opposition politics. He is widely seen as nurturing another run for the presidency in 2027, continuing his long-standing ambition to lead the country.
Although the details of his discussions with Bafarawa were not disclosed, the visit comes amid ongoing consultations and political alignments ahead of the next general elections.
