The presiding pastor of The Carpenter’s Church, pastor Nkechi Ene has died shortly after returning from a ministry trip.
Pastor Sola Akinwale on behalf of the church made the sad announcement via a statementon Friday, where he disclosed that the clergywoman had experienced a health crisis shortly after her arrival in Nigeria.
The statement reads: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing into glory of God’s servant, our presiding pastor, our mother-in-Israel, Pastor Nkechi Ene.

The church also called for prayers for her family and her four daughters, Zoe, Chloe, Tracy and Osi.
Condolences were also extended to her mother, Mercy Chijioke and her siblings.
“As a church family, we acknowledge that this is a challenging time for us,” the statement added.
“At times like these, we must embrace, comfort, and encourage one another, starting with our pastor’s family.”
“Though now absent from us, her impact and legacy endure in our hearts and in our lives,” the statement concluded.
“The Lord is good, and His mercies endure forever.
Before death, the deceased led the church in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and was known for her Bible-based teachings and long-standing commitment to ministry.
She began her pastoral work under the leadership of the founding pastor of the church and her late husband, pastor Charles Ene.
After his death in 2013, she continued to lead the ministry and expanded its outreach through media broadcasts and community programmes.
Her death comes weeks aftter the death of foremost Christian leader and evangelist, Rev. Uma Ukpai, who passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.
The revered preacher, teacher, and humanitarian was widely celebrated for his fiery evangelism and enduring contributions to the Pentecostal movement in Nigeria.Read Original
