Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday paid a visit to former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, at his Abuja residence.
Atiku confirmed the meeting in a post on social media.
“I visited Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at his residence in Abuja earlier today. I am happy seeing him in good, unbroken, and unwearing spirit,” he wrote.
The visit comes shortly after Atiku’s return to the country on Saturday from an overseas trip.
Tambuwal, a close political ally of Atiku, had in August been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraudulent cash withdrawals totalling ₦189 billion, reportedly in violation of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
Both men are among politicians backing the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC).
