No fewer than 792 women have left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.
The defectors were formally received by the governor’s wife, Amina Umar Namadi, at an event held in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.
Mrs Namadi described the move as a reflection of the quality of leadership provided by Governor Umar Namadi’s administration, particularly its commitment to improving the welfare of women and young people.
She congratulated the new members and assured them that the APC would continue to welcome all who are ready to contribute to the state’s development.
Also speaking, the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, reiterated the administration’s resolve to enhance the well-being of ordinary citizens across Jigawa.
