According to a report by the Punch News on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, a traveller while returning from Niger State passed along the Ilorin–Kabba Road, where bandits attacked, and revealed that they suddenly ran into bandits, and everybody, including travellers and residents, abandoned their cars and scattered into the bush.
The traveller recounted that the bandits arrived at around 6:30 pm, opening fire and killing two people instantly. Amidst the chaos, the exact number of abducted victims remains unclear as the shooting continues.
The traveler said in the voice recording, “We suddenly ran into them. Everybody abandoned their cars and scattered into the bush.”
Mr. Ayeoribe, a community leader, said Eruku’s been under attack for three weeks, with no response from authorities despite repeated distress calls. He lamented that they’ve begged local and state governments for help, but nothing’s been done, leaving them living in daily fear. Read Original
