Victor Umeh, a Nigerian lawmaker representing the Anambra Central senatorial district in the Nigerian senate, has given his take on the proposed creation of a new state in the southeast.
In recent times, the Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Constitution Review has approved the creation of an additional state in the Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
However, during an interview with Arise News, the Nigerian lawmaker, Victor Umeh, stated that the southeast deserves an additional state.
Furthermore, the senator recounted a funny scenario that ensued during his immigration to America, where he was asked to remove his cap, a symbol of the Igbo culture, and he blatantly refused.
Following several consultations, Senator Umeh yielded in and made incantations to appease the gods before eventually removing the cap.
According to the video, “They said you must remove this cap. They said when you come to America, you must cooperate with immigration officers; otherwise, you go back.
