In a recent video shared on, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo, the prominent Niger Delta leader and former militant commander, reflected on his life, legacy, and the evolving landscape of leadership in Nigeria.

While reflecting on his personal legacy, Dokubo reaffirmed his commitment to the Kalabari people. “The realms of what the Kalabari people stand for, their beliefs, and the key are in my hands,” he said, underlining his determination to preserve the traditions and autonomy of his people. He also stressed, “I’m not ready to let go of what my father handed over to me,” signaling that despite the rising youth influence, he remains a guardian of his heritage.
Dokubo also critiqued political structures that, in his view, undermine minority groups. He warned that those in power often misuse the Constitution and control of security forces to maintain dominance. “They have the power, the police, everybody is with them,” he said, highlighting the ongoing challenges that persist.
