The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, has on Monday led a squad of the state Command’s personnel to enforce peace and order in Oworonshoki following reports of planned demonstration and obstruction of the Third Mainland Bridge by aggrieved residents.
NPO earlier Reported that the Command, in a statement issued by its spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, announced the deployment of its officers across the Third Mainland bridge axis over alleged planned protests and obstruction of traffic by residents and youths of Oworonshoki community.
The community is the last before the Third Mainland Bridge where demolition of allegedly unapproved structures has been taking place with many concerned residents staging protests.

The planned protest is coming under the heels of Lagos State Government’s demolition of several buildings on Saturday night.
With the exercise running through the night till the early hours of Sunday affected residents who were still counting their losses from last month’s phase of the demolition had allegedly planned to stage another protest along the Third Mainland.
However, the Lagos Police Command’s spokesperson allayed concerns over the planned demonstrations.
Adebisi, in a live coverage shared on her X handle announced the arrival of the Lagos CP, Olohundare, alongside other heavily armed personnel.
One of the videos showed moment the Police Commissioner hang by the door of Armoured Personnel Carrier while waving at onlookers.
Adebisi assured Lagosians of a hitch-free transit across the Third Mainland Bridge.
