According to a report by Vanguard on Monday, October 20, 2025, Igbo leaders in Lagos commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership, describing him as a God-sent figure whose vision and resilience have guided Nigeria through challenging times. The remarks were made during a reconciliation meeting between the Ohanaeze Ndigbo community and the Lagos4Lagos Movement, aimed at strengthening ties between Igbos and Yorubas in the state.
Chief Sunday Udeh, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Lagos, said Tinubu’s leadership has shown depth, understanding, and a clear direction for the country. He stated that the President deserves another term in office, describing him as “a man who knows the game.” Udeh called on both ethnic groups to maintain peace and unity, saying cooperation was key to sustained development in Lagos and Nigeria at large.

Deacon Charles Obih, National President of the Market Leaders Association of Nigeria, expressed gratitude for the President’s reforms and commitment to national growth. He said Igbos in Lagos would fully support Tinubu’s re-election, noting that the President had demonstrated courage in addressing inherited challenges. In his words, “To be frank, if God had not brought a man like him, we do not know where this country would be today.”
Other Igbo leaders at the gathering, including Dr Okey Anorue and Chief Amaka Chibuzor, echoed similar sentiments, urging their kinsmen to strengthen unity with their Yoruba hosts and avoid political division. They reaffirmed that supporting Tinubu’s second-term bid would ensure continuity and stability, while preserving the bond between both ethnic communities in the state.
