Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo has expressed joy and gratitude to God as construction of the church’s 100,000-capacity Ark auditorium approaches completion.
In a video shared online, the cleric was seen singing and praising God while inspecting the massive structure, describing it as a testament to divine grace, vision, and commitment.
The Ark, located in Ota, Ogun State, is projected to be one of the largest church auditoriums in the world, built to accommodate tens of thousands of worshippers with modern facilities for global outreach and ministry operations.
News of the near-completion has sparked mixed reactions across social media, with Nigerians divided over the significance of such a grand religious structure amid the country’s economic hardship.

While supporters hailed Bishop Oyedepo and the Living Faith community for their dedication and faith, others questioned whether such vast resources could have been better directed toward industrial or social development.
One user wrote, “One offering and tithe from here go big pass Ebonyi State yearly allocation,” while another commented, “They can build big auditoriums but not industries. When it comes to productivity, all power suddenly disappears.”
Critics urged religious leaders to prioritise investments in schools, industries, and hospitals rather than massive church projects.
“Building this huge auditorium is not what Nigeria needs right now. Those funds could create jobs or improve healthcare,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Religious leaders should channel their influence into building productive institutions. We already have too many churches and too little progress.”
Despite the criticisms, members of the Living Faith Church have continued to celebrate the milestone, describing the Ark project as a symbol of unwavering faith and divine provision.
