A Nigerian woman has gone online to vent her frustration over the outrageous cost of flight tickets to the Eastern part of the country ahead of Christmas.
In the viral clip, she expressed disbelief that a family of two adults and three children would have to pay over ₦3 million just to travel home for the holidays.
According to her, she initially thought it would cost around ₦2 million, which she still found understandable, but hearing ₦3.1 million left her completely shocked.
She said:
“Make it make sense to me. How much is a ticket to China? Because at this point, it’s cheaper to go abroad than travel from Lagos to the East.”

The woman lamented that local airlines have become “too greedy” and vowed to cancel her Christmas travel plans entirely, adding that she would rather use the money to invest or give to widows back home.
She added that she once tried doing a road trip to save costs, but it ended badly as her son suffered during the long journey.
In her words:
“Last year I promised myself never again. I’d rather stay back than stress my child on the road. My father-in-law will understand.”
She concluded by saying that the situation in the country is becoming unbearable, stressing that if it were an international trip, she wouldn’t even mind paying more because at least it would make sense financially.
