A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nelson Ahamefula Akuma, has condemned the statement made by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (AGF), George Akume, that Nigeria’s problems did not start with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Speaking while reacting to the statement, Akuma said that while it is obvious that there were already problems in the economy and security before Tinubu came on board in 2023, the president is multiplying the problems with his reforms that lack human face.
According to him, the business of a leader is to solve problems and never to make excuses, adding that Tinubu already know that there were problems in the country before deciding to run for the office of the president.

LOCATED AT “ABUJA, LAGOS, OSUN
Speaking further, he said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) deceived Nigerians by over blowing the leadership capacity of Bola Tinubu.
He said that Tinubu was presented to Nigerians in 2023 as the man with the magic wand.
According to him, after all the hype of building Lagos and so on, the president is now overwhelmed and struggling in office.
Akuma said that instead of the president admitting that he has failed and asking for help, he is still parading himself as a super star in governance.
His words: “What our so called leaders are good at is validating failures. Everybody in the country is aware that Nigeria’s problems did not start with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration. Muhammad Buhari had already messed up the economy before Tinubu came on board. But as a leader, your duty is to solve problems and not to push blames or give excuses. That was what Buhari did for the whole eight years he was in office, blaming Jonathan and the PDP. The question now is since the problem did not start with his administration, what steps is he taking to fix the problems? As far as most Nigerians are concerned the answer is nothing.”
He said that rather than fix the myriad of problems plaguing the country, what the government is doing is amplifying and multiplying the problems for the Nigerian masses while making life easy for themselves.
According to him, the President should first of all accept responsibility for his failure before he would be able to develop the capacity to solve the problems in the country.
