The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko has opened up on when former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi will decide on joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
According to him, the decision will be taken after the November 8 Anambra governorship election.
Tanko made the claim during an interview with Punch on Sunday.
He stated this while reacting to last Thursday’s call by ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, that all coalition leaders should resign from their current parties and register fully with the ADC.

Tanko said the ADC had earlier given Obi a waiver to take time to weigh his options, adding that Obi would not be forced into abandoning the Labour Party until the right time.
He said,“The waiver still stands for us. They made the announcement but didn’t change it. If other people are joining them, it is okay. Very soon, our principal will make his position known.
“We agreed it would be after the Anambra November election, which has not taken place yet. After all, people, including the media, saw us campaigning for Moghalu in Anambra. So, there is no way we could jettison it until we finish that election.
“As far as we are concerned, it is more logical. Besides, the ADC didn’t give any ultimatum. Obi can only make his position known after the Anambra election. But presently, he is out of the country delivering a paper.”
