Oyo State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Governor of the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

The lawmakers also expressed the same confidence in the Speaker of the House, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, and the leadership of the House.

The decision was made during plenary at the resumption of recess of the House.

In his contribution, Mr. Olatunde Kehinde, representing Akinyele State Constituency 2, highlighted the governor’s recent rollout of strategic road projects across Oyo State.

He emphasized that a significant portion of the recently approved N300 billion facility will fund the rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, which are vital for economic growth and connectivity.

Also speaking, the majority leader, Mr. Sanjo Adedoyin, praised the launch of the Oyo State Sub national Implementation Strategy for the African Continental Free Trade Area AFCFTA, describing it as a visionary move that positions the state as a key economic player within the continent.

He thereafter moved a motion formally endorsing the policies and direction of the Seyi Makinde-led administration, which was seconded by the Chief Whip, Mr. Gbenga Oyekola.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Mr. Adebo Ogundoyin, reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to good governance and transparency.

He assured that the 10th Assembly is focused on delivering its legislative responsibilities without bias or witch-hunting.
