No fewer than 18 stolen vehicles, including two trucks have been recovered by the operatives of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale disclosed this while briefing journalists at the command’s headquarters on Friday.
He said at least nine suspects linked to the crime have been arrested and will be made to face the law, as investigation is still ongoing.
He said, “The Command also recovered eighteen stolen vehicles, including two trucks and six truck tires.
“Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with these cases and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations”.
The Commissioner also told journalists that three notorious one-chance criminals including one Ashafa Ali, Mohammed Lamido Jabir and Ahmed Mohammed were arrested.
The CP explained that on April 30, 2025, one Kelvin Okorie of Lugbe reported to the command that he boarded a vehicle to the Central Area, only to be attacked at knife-point by the driver and one accomplice.
“He was dispossessed of N80,000 cash, two mobile phones, and other valuables.
“His ATM card was also seized, and a total of N2,700,000 was withdrawn from his account through POS operators”, the commissioner said, adding that the suspects were arrested following an “intensive investigation by detectives from the Anti-One-Chance Unit “B” and the Surveillance Team”.
